People choose to volunteer for a variety of reasons. For some it offers the chance to give something back to the community or make a difference to the people around them. For others it provides an opportunity to develop new skills or build on existing experience and knowledge. Volunteers are the lifeblood of our clubs and without them it is not possible to provide the opportunities to our members, most being run entirely through volunteer effort.  Volunteers who give their time and expertise in a club need to feel valued, be well managed and included in decision making.

Sporting communities offer volunteers increased opportunity for social connection, physical activity, and mental health and wellbeing. Being able to actively participate in a sporting club adds value and a sense of togetherness and community.
